Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect information needed to provide SoDesh, including your name, email address, account identifier, profile image when selected, content you submit, saved items, notification preferences, and app activity. Business users may also provide business contact details, ownership evidence, offers, events, and listing information.

A phone number is optional. You can create and use an account without one. If you add a phone number, we store it with your profile as contact information for features you select. It is not required for sign-up, sign-in, onboarding, or profile completion.

2. Location, photos and notifications

With your permission, SoDesh may use device location to show nearby businesses, events, offers, and community services. You can change location access in device settings. When you choose a photo or document, we process the item you select for that feature. Push-notification tokens and preferences are used to deliver alerts you enable.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, operate community and utility features, personalise nearby results, manage verified business listings and claims, deliver notifications, prevent abuse, provide support, and maintain SoDesh. We do not sell personal information.

4. Service providers and sharing

We use providers such as Clerk for authentication, Supabase for database and storage services, and Expo for app delivery and notifications. They process information on our behalf under their security and privacy terms. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention and security

We retain information only while reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the community. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, leave the optional phone field blank, clear a supplied phone number, change device permissions, and manage notifications. You can permanently delete your account in the app from Profile, Settings & Account, Delete Account. You can also request account and associated data deletion on our website. Website requests are reviewed manually and require ownership verification. Contact us regarding access, correction, or other privacy questions. Limited information may be retained where required for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Children and changes

SoDesh is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when our features or obligations change. We will update the effective date and provide appropriate notice for material changes.
